This privacy policy describes how Lunera AI Solutions FZC ("we", "our", "us") handles information in connection with the AIBuddy mobile application ("the App"), which features an AI companion called "Sidekick" designed for children aged 6-10.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. Information We Collect

The App collects the following types of information during use:

• Voice recordings: When using the voice chat feature, the App records audio through the device microphone. This audio is transmitted to our server for transcription only and is not stored permanently.
• Chat messages: Text messages typed or transcribed from voice are sent to our server to generate AI responses.
• Session identifier: A randomly generated ID (UUID) is created on the device to group conversations. This is not linked to any personal identity.
• User preferences: Settings such as voice speed, language, and the custom name given to the AI buddy are stored locally on the device only.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• No real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
• No date of birth or age
• No photos, contacts, or location data
• No device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprints
• No analytics, telemetry, or behavioral tracking data

The App actively filters and rejects any input that contains personally identifiable information such as phone numbers, email addresses, or social security numbers.

3. How We Use Information

Data collected during a session is used solely to provide the App's core functionality:

• Voice recordings are sent to a speech-to-text service (OpenAI Whisper) to convert speech into text. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored after transcription.
• Chat messages are sent to an AI language model (Anthropic Claude) to generate child-friendly responses. A limited conversation history (last 10 messages) is kept in server memory during the session to provide conversational context.
• AI responses may be converted to speech using a text-to-speech service (ElevenLabs) for the voice chat feature.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Server-side: All session data (conversation history, session metadata) is stored in temporary server memory only. It is not written to any database or persistent storage. All data is lost when the server restarts.
• On-device: Chat history (up to 50 recent messages) and user preferences are stored locally on the device using standard app storage. Users can clear this data at any time using the "Start Fresh" feature in the App.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to provide its features. Data is sent to these services through our server (the App does not contact them directly):

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes chat messages to generate AI responses. Anthropic Privacy Policy

No other third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or tracking tools are used.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for children aged 6-10. We take children's privacy seriously:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
• The AI is instructed to never discuss inappropriate, scary, or adult content
• Built-in safety filters block and reject messages containing personal information
• The App does not contain advertisements
• The App does not include in-app purchases
• No user accounts or authentication are required

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate measures to protect data during transmission and processing:

• Communication between the App and our servers uses standard network protocols
• Rate limiting is enforced to prevent misuse (5 requests per 15 seconds per session)
• Message length is limited to 500 characters to prevent abuse
• No data is stored in persistent databases, minimizing risk of data breaches

8. Your Rights and Controls

• You can clear all locally stored data using the "Start Fresh" feature in the App
• You can uninstall the App at any time to remove all on-device data
• Server-side session data is automatically discarded when the server restarts and is not recoverable

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
